A special evening is planned

Letter to the Editor:
We want to share this news with our Canadian neighbors, because we know that our friend, RuBelle Towne, has connections that extend well beyond Baudette to Rainy River and beyond. We are thrilled to announce that the Northwest Minnesota Women’s Fund has named RuBelle Towne as a recipient of their 2008 Community Builder Award! Every year the Northwest Minnesota Women’s Fund recognizes women who have demonstrated leadership for improving the quality of their own life, or the lives of those around them, as outstanding “community builders”.
RuBelle will be presented with the Community Builder Award at a celebration in her honor on Friday, December 5th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at The Smiling Moon Café in downtown Baudette. We invite friends of RuBelle to help celebrate the achievements she has accomplished in our community.
In honor of RuBelle, please:
1. Submit a “memory letter” or “photo of RuBelle – with a caption” for a Memory Book (send to Jane Sindelir at 74521st Avenue SW, Baudette, MN 56623 – or email diggity@wiktel.com )
2. Send a congratulatory card to wish her well.
3. Make a donation to the Lake of the Woods Historical Society’s “Tree of Life” campaign (checks payable to Lake of the Woods Historical Society, designated to the Tree of Life in honor of RuBelle) and mail to 206 8th Ave SE, Baudette, MN 56623
4. Make a donation to the NW MN Women’s Fund (checks payable to NW MN Foundation, designated to Women’s Fund in honor of RuBelle), 4225 Technology Drive NW, Bemidji, MN 56601
