FF home lost to fire

On January 15, 2009 at approximately 11:30 am, Ontario Provincial Police and Watten Fire Department responded to a house fire on the Rocky Inlet Road in Watten Township. Rocky Inlet Road is a residential area located approximately 10 kilometers east of Fort Frances. Unfortunately, the residence had been completely destroyed by fire by the time emergency personel arrived on the scene. All the occupants of the residence were out of the home at the time of the fire and no one was injured as a result of the fire.
Police were able to locate the owners of the residence with help of other community members. The occupants of the residence were renting the residence at the time of the fire. They are not from the Fort Frances area and do not have family support here. Police, along with the Rainy River Victims Services have coordinated efforts to help care for the family of two adults and two children.
