Bonot competes at Northerns

Trevor Bonot, formerly of Stratton, competed on a team from Thunder Bay in the Northern Ont. playdowns in Fort Frances last week to try and win a berth to the Brier. They lost their opening match to Mike Assad of T Bay 6-5, rebounded with a 7-3 win over Cory Nephin (Geraldton) 7-3 in their first ‘B’ side match, lost to Matt Dumontelle (Sudbury) 6-4, then were eliminated with a 7-6 loss to Robert Thomas (Sault Ste. Marie). Sorry it’s brief, but I’ve got about 5-6 pending stories still to wrap up b4 this afternoon. Mike Jakubo of Copper Cliff Curling Club (Sudbury area) won the playdowns to represent Northern Ontario at the Brier.
