Former Liberal M.P. upset with the way N.D.P. are doing business

Letter to the Editor,
It is quite remarkable that the NDP would try another one of their very expensive “tours” to again ask select groups of people to tell them what they should be doing.
It was just a short while ago that a wasteful “tour” asked select groups and individuals to bring forth the best ideas for the Budget-even though the NDP was going to vote AGAINST the budget no matter what!!
And now again a series of expensive multi-media ads and the huge costs of touring staff around the country for what- so the NDP can again vote against any good ideas.
During the election the NDP claimed to have all the easy answers. Now we see that they never did have any solutions nor did they ever intend to offer anything serious.
Have they ever asked small businesses for their input? Not in any sincere way.
Without realistic policies they continue with the “fluff” of windowdressing on tour. An MP’s job is to listen closely to what the people are really saying, to care that their concerns mean something important and then to act responsibly to get results.
To be accountable to the people means you have to have their best interests at heart- not just “touring” and putting on a show. That’s just wasteful and expensive. The people of Northwestern Ontario expect their MP’s to work for the Northwest.
We now know the NDP cannot provide real solutions and besides if we gave them the good ideas they’d just vote against them anyway!
–Respectfully submitted,
