Last Wednesday the entire student body at Riverview Elementary School in Rainy River was treated to a special concert featuring prize winning performers.
The Rainy River District Music Festival saw many musicians and vocalists perform and several from Riverview did exceptionally well. There was a district highlights concert in Fort Frances on the weekend but the Riverview performers could not attend so Vice-principal Anne Carradice decided to hold a Mini-highlights concert with the local winners and a few more numbers from other classes thrown in.
Winning for Riverview School were the following:
The grade 3-8 French Choir came in first with two songs: Plus de Guerre and On Fait du Camping.
Naomi Carradice, a Senior Kindergarten Student came in first singing a solo. The song she sang was Circus Clowns.
Lemuel Carradice, a grade 3 student, came in first for his guitar playing. He played Minuet in ā€œGā€.
Moriah Carradice, a grade 5 student came in first for her piano playing. She played Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.
Rounding out the highlights concert at Riverview were the grades 1 and 2 students playing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star on the instrument called the Boom Whacker.
The grade 3 and 4 classes also played their recorders at the concert.
