Canoe/Kayak club set to meet Wednesday

Have you been waiting to wet a paddle this spring? Then come and attend the River Runners organizational meeting on Wednesday, June 10th at 7:00 p.m. at the Ken Moorman residence. All Club members won't want to miss this important meeting, and anyone who is interested in paddling sports is welcome to come and kick off the paddling season with our group. The Moorman's residence is five miles west of Baudette off of Highway 11, and 1/4 mile south on 29th Ave. SW. Their house is the first home on the road on the west side.
The first item of business will be to elect new officers for the 2009 Paddling Season. Tom Heinrich has been our President, Mike Hirst has been our Vice President and Carol Levasseur has served as Secretary/Treasurer.
A fun run down the Upper and Lower Sault Rapids near Birchdale will be discussed as a group trip option and there will possibly be another overnight campout at the lovely Big Bog State Recreation Area. Watch the paper for further details about these and other exciting trips.
The River Runners Canoe and Kayak Club has approximately 30 members and invites anyone interested in our upcoming trip schedule to attend this meeting for further details. Refreshments will be served. Call 634-1059 for more detailed directions to the Moorman's residence.
