Rainy River gets $18,900 for waterfront study

Ontario is supporting a comprehensive waterfront development plan for Rainy River that will help identify new economic development opportunities for the community.

Through this plan, the Town of Rainy River will identify services and facilities required to market the community as a tourism destination, attract new business and industry as well as new professionals.

* The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) is providing $18,900 toward this project through its Infrastructure and Community Development Program.
*Located on the Canada/U.S. border, Rainy River provides access to the United States highway system.
*Since January 2005, the NOHFC’s Infrastructure and Community Development Program has invested more than $162 million in some 323 projects in Northern Ontario.
