Trying to find that the spirit of the season!

‘Tis the season to be jolly...
Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la!
While Christmas is only two days away, I am finding that it just doesn’t seem like the Christmas season yet.
Perhaps it is the strange weather that we have been having, or perhaps it is the looming war with Iraq that has put a damper on the season.
I managed to get about 80% of my decorations up, did some Christmas baking; though only about half of what I normally do. I have done most of my shopping, but still I do not feel like it is Christmas.
The aforementioned reasons coupled with the fact that this is the first time in years that we will not have a huge contingent of family gathering at my parents place and I feel like changing those lyrics to Blah-blah-blah-blah-blah-blah-blah!
So what to do to get in the mood?
Maybe wrapping presents will help!
Maybe a little eggnog!
Maybe some Christmas music!
If all else fails I usually find that giving to others makes me feel like I have the Christmas Spirit! So if all else fails, the giving of gifts on Christmas day will likely festive up my mood.
In any case, I hope that you and your families have or do find the Christmas Spirit!
–Until then,
Ken
