Canadian women fare well at Oak Harbor finale

Sue LaValla won the Women’s Club Championship with an 18 hole score of 90. Congratulations to Jean Bernst and Meryl Rassmussen, who shared the titles of Senior Champion(over 55) and Super Senior Champion (over 70) with identical scores of 94. Seventeen women played in the tournament on a beautiful day for golf this past Tuesday. The women were put into four flights based on their handicaps. Results as follows:

Orton/Johnson Take Men’s League Title

Randy Orton and Steve Johnson defeated Darin Dahl and Dave Beyer to capture the Men’s League Championship last Wednesday at Oak Harbor. Orton/Johnson wore down the heavily favored Dahl/Beyer team and finally closed them out on the final hole. To Dave and Darin’s credit, they never gave up. Randy will be accepting donations for the “Darin Dahl Putter Fund” as Darin apparently misplaced his putter on the final hole. This fund is similar to the “T shirt Fund” set up for Darin a few years ago at the bowling alley. Thanks to everyone who participated in league this year and hope to see you all back next year!!
