First Spruce Creek Classic a sucess

The first Spruce Creek Golf Classic was held on Saturday, Sept. 12.
The day started out foggy, but after the fog burned off, the weather was perfect for golf.
This year we had only 15 participants, however all had such a good time, we are sure that the tournament will be much anticipated next year.
It was an exciting format, the 1st nine was a scramble and the 2nd nine was a best ball. We had 3 person teams, you could come with a partner, but the 3rd person on your team was drawn from a hat.
Final Standings
3rd place winners were Dave Bauer, Ron Lemmon, and Mel Durie. Coming in 2nd, were Patrick Gibbbins, Brendan Big George and Farrel Desrosier. 1st place winners were Gary Tuesday, Reg Morrison and Laurie Pentney.
Patrick Gibbins won the long drive contest, with Deb Whetzel and Gary Tuesday getting the closest to the pin prizes.
