Unfortunately some are quick to criticize

Dear Sir;
By means of this letter our intent is not to publicly slander anyone. Congratulations to Brent Anderson and the RRWT committee on your hard work and dedication to making your tournament the success that it is, unfortunately some are quick to judge and criticize committee decisions when there is no intent to become a part of the solution and we all know that in coming up with a feasible solution that satisfies everyone is virtually impossible.
It seems to us there are plenty of fishing tournaments that take place that anglers do have the opportunity to fish in and some who have businesses of there own who are not as fortunate as Mr. Godin to be able to pre-fish and fish in as many as he does while his employees continue to operate his business.
Mr. LaBelle is a fine businessman and angler who is more than capable of voicing his own opinion if he so chooses. Bravo to Mr. Godin for sponsoring the RRWT and spending the money he does along with his ten friends, that is what makes any tournament a success including the committees, sponsors, and the many volunteers that are needed, let’s all show our appreciation to all those people who so willingly give up their time.
As Mr. Anderson stated in his letter to the editor dated February 5th, this issue regarding the change of date was addressed in the closing statements of their tournament. Why wouldn’t a true sportsman stay until the end of the tournament and gather this information rather than publicly ridicule oneself?
We are all very fortunate to reside in an area where we have such beautiful lakes and rivers to enjoy with our families and to obtain a livelihood, one should not take these resources for granted.
Good luck to all the anglers in the upcoming tournaments and to you Mr. Godin if you choose to nurture and harvest a pumpkin that you can enter in Rainy River’s great pumpkin festival to show your support to the community in which you were born and raised. Hopefully everyone will end up supporting whichever event is more important to them and enjoy it to the fullest and this issue can be put to rest.
Sincerely,
Brian Halverson
