Skylar Arpin, of Sleeman, has taken a charitable approach to getting a new hair style.
For the second time in two years she decided to cut her long hair short for a new look. But at the same time she has been sending her hair to “Evlyn’s Wig Sales and Service in Lorette, MB. to be used to make wigs for children living with cancer.
The first time she sent her hair was in March of 2007 at which time she sent in 12 inches!
She has decided to do it all again! This month she will be sending in 13 inches. After she sent the first batch, she received a thank you card from Evelyns for her priceless gift.
“The primary reason she cuts her is for a change in hairstyle. Because she gets so much cut off, family members encouraged her to donate it to cancer. She thought that it would be a good idea rather than letting it go to waste,” said her mom, Bev Arpin.
Skylar plans on continuing to send her hair in regularly. Her dad, Guy Arpin, said, “Her hair grows back so fast and this is such a good cause.”
