Next Wednesday, November 11th, marks Remembrance Day and the Rainy River branch of the Canadian Legion will be holding its annual services that day beginning at 10:45 a.m.
The first ceremony will be held in the Legion Hall beginning with the national anthem and then welcoming remarks by Legion President Gerry Marchuk.
That will be followed by the Invocation by Gordon Armstrong.
Mayor Debbie Ewald will then read the Honour Roll of all local soldiers that died during the two World Wars and Korean War.
Two minutes of silence will then be observed followed by hymns, readings and prayers.
The Legion Colour Party will then march the colours to the cenotaph, just outside the Legion. It is there that the Cenotaph Ceremony will take place. After a Dedication the laying of wreaths will happen. After The Last Post is played and a Benediction given, all will be invited into the Legion for lunch.
