No one injured in bus accident

On November 23, 2009 at 3:40 pm, OPP officers and emergency crews responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a school bus and a pick up truck. A pick up truck travelling southbound on Minnie Avenue failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection at Second Street East. The collision occurred as the pick up truck proceeded through the intersection and was struck by an eastbound school bus.
The school bus was loaded with children at the time of the occurrence but fortunately there were no injuries to anyone involved in the collision. Paramedics attended to both drivers of the vehicles and all children on the bus to ensure there were no injuries.
There was no damage to the bus and the pick up truck received minor damage.
As a result of the investigation, OPP have charged a 76 year old male driver with failing to stop for a stop sign.
