Rene Alphonse Langlais, 41

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Rene Alphonse Langlais, age 41, on Saturday, December 26, 2009. Rene was born July 26, 1968 in Emo, Ontario to Alphonse and Annette (Sanche) Langlais, the youngest of 11 children.
Rene grew up on the family farm in Pinewood where he learned his strong work ethics, a love of the outdoors and for sports. He enjoyed hunting and became an elite baseball catcher and an avid competitor.
Rene graduated from Rainy River High School, and then completed his grade 13 at Fort Frances High. He then went to work for the CN as a conductor in Rainy River, Winnipeg and Thunder Bay. Rene moved to Alberta and worked as a conductor on the CN and then later started his career with NATCO Canada as a combustion engineer. He worked his way up to become services project manager in the oil fields. Rene loved his work, and travelled extensively on behalf of his company.
Rene and his family were active in Tai Kwon Do, and enjoyed camping and being outdoors. He was very proud of his children and loved them dearly.
Rene had the ability to make those around him laugh, with his jokes and funny stories. He also did a good rendition of Johnny Cash and the little ones were mesmerized by his Donald Duck impression.
Rene was a sensitive person and wore his heart on his sleeve. He always had a special hug for his siblings, nieces and nephews. Rene loved Mom and Dad and enjoyed being with them. He was always lending a helping hand to family, friends and neighbours no matter the task. Rene was very talented and mastered many skills including working with his hands.
