Library to offer free kids program
Submitted by
Michael Dawber
This winter, kids up to age six can enjoy stories, games and crafts about All the Colors of the Rainbow at the Rainy River Public Library!
Assistant librarian Michael Dawber will be starting this fun and fabulous new storytime program on Friday, February 5, at 11:00 a.m.
Our program will run at 11:00 a.m. each Friday after that until March 19.
Kids need to bring a mum, a dad, a caregiver, or a personal dragon. Dragons must be leashed at all times.
There’s no charge for our program, but please call the library at 852-3375 to register. Space is limited.
In the meantime, you can check out the library’s new on-line catalogue service, called iBistro. Go to rainyriver.jasinorth.ca.
You can see all 10,500 items in the library, place holds, renew your books, and get a book suggestion from our many reading lists.
To use the catalogue, you will need your library card and a pin number. To get your pin, call or visit the library.
If you haven’t visited us since before the holidays, the big guy in the red suit was very generous to the Rainy River Public Library this year. Our new book section is stuffed with great reads for adults, teens and children.
Kids of all ages will enjoy the new adventures of Northern Ontario’s most famous bear – Winnie the Pooh – in Return to the Hundred Acre Wood by David Benedictus.
And history buffs should pick up the new history of the famous Dance Fire of 1938. The book is called We Were Not Worried at Dinnertime.
Look forward to seeing you again soon!
