Library to improve its hours of operation

By Michael Dawber
Assistant Librarian

To serve you better, the Rainy River Public Library is moving to a new schedule in March!
Starting Monday, March 1, the library will be open Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
We will also be open Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
“Our new schedule will offer more evening and weekend hours for working families,” says assistant librarian Michael Dawber.
“We’ve also heard from seniors who’ve asked for weekday mornings,” says Dawber.
Don’t forget: if you miss us, you can return your books and magazines anytime at our overnight book drop.
The book drop is the large green box just outside the library building.
Our new schedule will not affect our regular programs.
Our pre-school storytime, “All the Colors of the Rainbow,” will still run Friday mornings at 11 a.m. until March 17.
There is still space available for storytime if you would like to join us. The program is free and open to children up to age six.
Kids must be accompanied by a mum, dad or caregiver for the program.
Families will also enjoy the many new children’s books at the library.
Check out Orange Pear Apple Bear by Emily Gravett, The Bear’s Long Trail by Jane Chartrand and the new, 40th anniversary edition of Shel Silverstein’s The Giving Tree.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
