Police seize large quantity of marijuanna at border

Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) Officers at the Pigeon River port of entry seized 5.6 kilograms of marijuana and a vehicle following a secondary examination on March 3, 2010.
Border Services Officers intervened after the vehicle failed to stop at the primary inspection booth upon entering Canada. During the secondary examination, CBSA Officers found 5.6 kilograms of marijuana concealed in the vehicle. The drugs, valued at $112,800, and the vehicle were seized.
The 19-year-old driver from Montréal, Québec and a 23-year-old passenger from Bedford, Québec are both charged with possession of a narcotic for the purpose of trafficking under the Criminal Code.
