12th Willie Walleye Run slated for June 5th

The Lake of the Woods Triple A Booster Club and Brockie’s Jewellers, Fort Frances, invite you to take part in the 12th Annual Willie Walleye 5K Run/Walk to be held Saturday, June 5, at 9 a.m. Race headquarters is the ambulance garage behind The Ranch House restaurant, and the race will start and finish on 1st Street. This event will kick off Baudette’s 19th Annual Willie Walleye Day celebration.
Plaques will be awarded to the overall male and female winners, and medals will be given to the top three finishers in several age groups, male and female. All participants will receive a T-shirt and goodie bag. Refreshments and door prizes will also be provided.
There is an entry fee and early registration is recommended. Registrations received after June 2, including race day registrations, will cost more. The entry fee includes a Willie Walleye Day button that automatically enters participants in a cash drawing, sponsored by the LoW Women of Today. Forms are available at Lake of the Woods High School, Rainy River Recreation Centre, The Baudette-LW Area Chamber of Commerce, and Brockie’s Jewellers in Fort Frances. Proceeds from this 5K event go to the Lake of the Woods-Rainy River-Atikokan Cross Country program and the LW Women of Today.
