RRHS names top students/athletes of 1009-10

Last Wednesday Rainy River High School held its annual Academic and Co-curricular Awards Banquet.
After a delicious lasagna supper the awards presentations began with School Council Chair Gaylene Jasper and Vice-principal Don McBride handing out certificates to the following students making the honour roll:
Students listed achieved honours for one reporting period during the 2009-2010 school year were: Thomas Anderson, Cody Armstrong, Audrey Chojko-Bolec, Tyrell Cholko-Bolec, Avery Copenace, Andy Holmes, Lori Gaune, Courtney Gibbins, Lewis Linklater, James Mack, Justin Peters, Karlene Pollard, Shane Rencher & Emily Whetzel.
Students that achieved honours for two reporting periods during the 2009-2010 school year were: Janelle Andy, Ashley Archie, Hillary Brown, Luke Clifford, Mathieu Godin, Hannah Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Dalton Lundren, Allyson McCormick, Tyler McNally, Tegan Miller, Kylie Nordin, Philemon Nussbaumer, Damon Short, Darrel Tuesday-Willie, Adrian Vandenbrand, Maria Vandenbrand, James Westover & Annagen Wood.

Principal Jim Chorney then took the podium to present the Ontario Principals’ Council Student Leadership Award. “This award goes to students that are good role models, inspire others, are trustworthy and who see things through to make a difference at the school.” Normally only one student receives it but this year Chorney presented it to Cody Jarvis and Deidre Wilson.
