How to control Ants

As the soil is starts to worm this spring you may encounter an infestation of ants either in your home, yard or garden. Although, most people consider ants to be pests, they are not a direct pest to plants but their burrows in the soil can loosen the roots of young plants and cause them to die. Ants in your home are just annoying and unsanitary.

Feds shouldn't share your info.

Do you think the federal government should be allowed to share your personal information – your physical location, bank account numbers, income, etc. – with a foreign government? I don’t either, but the Harper Government is trying to pass a law that will allow them to do just that, and it will have a huge impact on the economic well-being of at least one million Canadians.

It's off to the election races

Well we are off to the races. After the budget that Kathleen Wynne’s Government delivered in the legislature on Thursday, I fully expected that Andrea Horvath and her NDP caucus would stand behind Wynne and the legislature would go on for a year. I like both women. Both Andrea and Kathleen are practical down to earth people. I find them both sincere and approachable.
The election date is set for June 12.

I have lost condidence in them

Last Thursday the Liberal government brought forward its 2014-2015 budget. By now I am sure you have heard that I have lost confidence in this Liberal government given the many scandals, wasted money and their inability to follow through on many promises.

RR Trade Show is this Saturday

The Rainy River and District Chamber of Commerce will be holding its marquee event of the year this Saturday at the RR arena!

George Howard, 90

George was born on February 17, 1924 in Rainy River, Ont. to Russell and Sadie Howard. He attended school in Rainy River and then joined the Canadian Army in 1943 and served until his discharge in 1947. George was a life member of the Canadian Royal Legion, Branch 29 in Fort Frances.

Memorial Service: Olive and Bruce Ewald

A Memorial service will be held for Olive and Bruce Ewald on Saturday May 3, 2014 at 2:00pm from the Rainy River Evangelical Covenant Church with Pastor Mark Mast officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery at a later date.
Arrangements entrusted to Northridge Funeral Home, Emo, Ontario.

General meeting is Wednesday
