What the NDP has proposed on rail safety

As the investigation into the Lac Megantic tragedy continues I would like to let you know what the New Democratic Party has proposed on rail safety over the years. I think this is important information to consider as we head into the fall sitting of parliament as rail safety will be a high priority issue that will be up for debate.
Some MPs on the government side and media types have suggested that the Lac Megantic tragedy is a one off, that our railways are generally safe, and there is no need for urgent action. I am not one of those people.

The ups and downs of docks

Our dock at the cabin sits high. Water has only flowed over the top once in my lifetime. My father eyeballed the high water mark to build the dock and reckoned that if he built his docks and cribs, he would never have to worry about putting barrels on the dock to keep it from floating away in high water. The dock is very important at almost every cabin.
Barrels have been placed several times.

I stumped myself!

I have a lot of passwords for my computer to access various sites that we receive advertising and email from. I have been able to memorize a great many of them, but for my memories sake, and for other people to use at some future time, I have them stored safely away.
Some are as simple as a four-digit number much like you have for your bank access card. Others combine numbers, the alphabet and keyboard characters. Some are as many as 16 digits long for added security. Security tells you never to write your passwords down in case someone stumbles across them.
