Tax on heat is unacceptable

As the leaves begin to change colour and the first frost arrives we also begin our preparations for those six chilly months ahead. We put away our summer wear and look for our mitts, and start to look for those snow shovels and snow blowers once again. Another painful thing we must do as winter approaches is turn on the heat in our homes, and more painful yet we must pay those heating bills.

The west is alive and well

For Thanksgiving, my wife and I drove to Calgary to spend the weekend with my son. It has been several years since the two of us have made a road trip. Instead of travelling across Manitoba and Saskatchewan on the way west, we chose to travel south to Bemidji and then follow Highway 2 west to Minot before heading northwest back into Saskatchewan.

Struggling to let go of summer

It almost seemed criminal!
That was how I felt as I spent Thanksgiving Monday getting my place ready for winter.
