Rafferty wins T.Bay-R.R. riding

New Democratic Party (NDP) Incumbent John Rafferty was part of the predicted 'Orange Crush" in yesterday's federal election. The NDP won a record 102 seats to form the official opposition behind a Tory majority.
Rafferty won this riding with 18,039 votes (48.6%). He was followed by Moe Comuzzi-Stehman (Conservative) 10,096 (27.2%), Ken Boshcoff (Liberal) 8,066 (21.7%) and Ed Shields (Green) 909 (2.4%). Voter turnout in the riding was 37,110 or 62,018 or 59.8%.
