Santa day taking shape in Rainy River

Rainy River’s annual Christmas Extravaganza is on track for December 8th!
Organizers Nikki Blakeney and Kam Kuzyk are putting the final touches on the day long event.
The day will have something for everyone including kids activities, shopping for all ages, visiting with Santa and a parade!
The most pressing thing at the moment is a call for floats. There will be cash prizes for the top floats. The parade is 6 p.m. and is a parade of lights. Floats are usually well decorated with Christmas lighting and powered by batteries or generators. To enter a float groups or individuals can call Kuzyk at the Rec. Centre at 852-4446.
In years past the event also hosted pictures with Santa throughout the day. However, they are struggling to find a photographer and some “Santa’s Helpers.” If there is a photographer and some “Santas” interested in helping out contact Blakeney at 852-3362 ext. 2.
There is also spaces available at the Christmas Shopping Extravaganza. Anyone with products to sell can contact Blakeney as well.
