Salvation Army hampers now handled by NWHU

With the cuts to Service Ontario office hours in Rainy River, the Salvation Army has decided to end its long time relationship with the staff there.
For decades the office served as the hub for the Christmas Hamper program here. But with reduced hours they have opted to move things just next door.
Jill Pernsky of the Salvation Army told the Record last week that applications are now available at the Northwestern Health Unit, which is located right next door to Service Ontario, at the corner of Hwy. 11 and Main St.
“If you feel you have a need for a hamper, please fill out an application and return it to NWHU by Nov. 28th,” said Pernsky.
Hampers will be delivered to Rainy River on or about Dec. 20th.
