Anglers injured in fish shack explosion

On 12-30-12, at approx. 0801, the Lake Of The Woods County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of an explosion in a privately owned fish house located on shore in the Zipple Bay Area.
All five occupants of the fish house sustained injuries and were transported by ambulance to LakeWood Health Center in Baudette.
Those injured in the incident are Rod Bolstad, age 51; Jacob Bolstad, age 28; Joel Bolstad, age 19, all three from Hillsboro, North Dakota and Allan Stokke, age 56 and William Huotari, age 45. Their addresses are unknown at this time.
All five were transported to Lakewood Health Center in Baudette and then airlifted to a burn center in Duluth.
The fire marshal has not yet made an official cause of the explosion but appears to be from the furnace inside the fish house. Lake Of The Woods County Sheriff’s Office, Lake Of The Woods Ambulance, Williams Fire Department, Northren Lights first responders, Baudette Fire Department, Baudette Rescue Squad, and Warroad Ambulance responded.
The incident is under investigation by the Lake Of The Woods County Sheriff’s Office and the State Fire Marshall.
