Former RR man gets help from "Undercover Boos" via t.v. show
By Ken Johnston
You never know when a small miracle might come your way.
Last week former Rainy River man John Ricci was on television as part of an episode of Undercover Boss Canada, featuring Andy Clark of Clark Builders in Alberta.
Ricci thought he was doing a video and was unaware that he was working with the actual owner of the company. During some routine work on a construction site, Ricci told Clark about his wife Cindy's battle with cancer.
He said that he had been working mainstream with Clark Builders but had decided to take time off to spend with is wife. However, when he no longer could afford to stay at home with her, he returned to work on special projects with Clark Builders.
He told Clark that he had taken out a $5,000 loan from the company earlier and it just came down to him finally having to return to work.
On a lunch break during the video shoot, Clark went to his car to call his brother, from whom John had borrowed the money and said he wanted to do more.
Having had a daughter fight cancer, Clark felt emotionally moved to help John and Cindy.
He called a cancer specialist of last resort and set up an appointment for Cindy to do a full assessment.
Later in the show he called John to corporate headquarters where he gave John some more help. He told him the loan was written off, the company was also giving him another $5,000 and Andy himself was giving them $5,000 personally.
"Our prayers are with you brother," said Clark as he embraced Ricci.
John said Cindy would like to go home to see her kids so bad and this will help.
It aired several times last week on the W Network and can be seen at http://www.wnetwork.com/Shows/Undercover-Boss-Canada/Video.aspx on the internet
