Catholic Board set to ratify Accomodation Review Committee for Stratton School

Editor's Note: In last week's paper we reported that the first public meeting for the accomodation review of Our Lady of the Way School was to be Feb. 20th. That info. came from a representative of the Catholic Board. However, another rep. contacted us with the following info., noting the public meeting dates are yet to be set.

News Release

The Northwest Catholic District School Board will confirm its Accommodation Review Committee to review the future of Our Lady of the Way School in Stratton, at its February 19, 2013 Regular Board meeting.
The first committee meeting is just for the ARC members and is scheduled for February 20th at Our Lady of the Way School in Stratton. At this meeting, the ARC will review the role of the committee, the Terms of Reference, and the committee will set the dates for the Public Meetings that will take place in the near future.
The Board invites parents, guardians, students, school staff, school council members and the local community to attend the public meetings in order to ensure an open and informed exchange of views. There will be four public meetings between March through June to be held at Our Lady of the Way School. Details of the Public Meetings will be posted on the Board’s website, as its primary source of information, and they will be published in the local newspapers.
The ARC will produce an Accommodation Report that will make accommodation recommendation(s) consistent with the Objectives and Reference Criteria outlined in the committee’s Terms of Reference. The ARC will deliver its Accommodation Report to the Board’s Director of Education, who will have the Accommodation Report posted on the Board’s website. The ARC will present its Accommodation Report to the Board of Trustees after the public community consultations. The Board administration will examine the ARC Accommodation Report and staff will present the administration analysis and recommendations to the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees will make the final decision regarding the future of the school.
