Giant charity auction set to raise money for locum house
Need something for your home? Anything at all? Well you can probably find it at the Giant Charity Auction in Rainy River on Saturday September 7 starting at 10 am sharp. What organizers started originally as a garage sale was revamped to an auction when donations for the event exploded into a mountain of goods. People from across the west end of the Rainy River District gathered their surplus items in support of the Rainy River Locum Rental House project.
The Rainy River Garage at Atwood Ave and 6th St these past months has been the centre for collection, sorting, and storage of the donations. It is full- slam, crammed, full in fact. Everything from a massive collection of kitchenware, to appliances, to furniture, TVs, microwaves, stereos, computer equipment, toys, books, sporting goods, tools, antiques, collectables, Christmas decor…. You name it- we’ve got it!
Volunteers have spent days sorting and grouping the items and they are all yours. Local auctioneers have volunteered their time and skills to find a new home for these great items. Your bid will be considered a donation to the Rainy River Locum House Project. Upon request, after the conclusion of the sale, tax deductable receipts for your donations of $20 or more will be issued.
So mark the date- Saturday, September 7, 2013- and come down to Rainy River for some great auction action. Get in a little early Christmas shopping without bending your budget. Lunch will be available.
