25 years! Where has the time gone!

25 years ago this week I stepped off a plane from Windsor, Ont., where I was attending university, to begin my career here at the Record.
My first story was the toll going off the international bridge.
Since that time I have covered many events both joyous and tragic.
Some events are very vivid in my mind. There are some I love having had a front row seat to. Things like the construction of a new hospital after more than a decade of the community fighting for it.
Celebrating several anniversaries such as RR and Stratton's 100th also stand out.
I have also met many interesting people including Prime Minister Chretien, three Lt. Governors of Ontario, television celebrities and the Canadian National Parachute team, The Skyhawks.
But most of all I have enjoyed telling your stories. I have often said, "Everyone has a story to tell." And many of them have been told here in the Record.
There have been times where controversy polarized the community.
There have also been times where the community rallied together as one to fight fires or rising floodwaters.
It has been a great ride and I have learned a lot. Not sure if I will be here for another 25 years but I am looking forward to whatever the future brings.
–Until then, Ken
