Lake of the Woods and Rainy River High Schools Held a Mini-We Day last Friday, April 11th at LOW School in Baudette.
This high energy, informative day consisted of workshops and inspiring speakers/performers on the theme of "Follow Your Dreams."
Shane Feldman, founder and executive director of the youth volunteering group Count Me In, was the keynote speaker.
R & B singer FLO, who is a Canadian Music Award winner, performed with her band.
RRHS Alumnus Phil McGreevy also spoke about how he worked his way from Restaurant and Hotel Management to working in the front office of the Winnipeg Jets.
Big Grassy community member, Deb Whetzel, delivered a workshop about healing the broken heart.
Daniel and Kimberly Craig make up The Street Circus. These two talented performers, who went to the Cirque du Soleil School, performed acrobatic and juggling feats as well as using their unique humour to entertain the audience.
These were just a few of the many speakers/performers who were sharing Free the Children’s message of reaching out and turning from a Me generation to a We generation.
