Trade show plans coming together
By Ken Johnston
With less than three weeks until the annual Rainy River Trade Show on May 10th, plans are in full swing for the event.
Rainy River and District Chamber of Commerce President Richard Trenchard said that they have the local arena slated for 34 exhibitors. “Of those 18 have been spoken for and we are getting about three or four more every day!” If need be they can add 16 more in the middle of the arena.
Despite what their invitations to businesses said, Trenchard said, “Our invitation mistakenly said that exhibitors had only until April 15th to register. This was incorrect and would like to emphasize they can continue to register at any time!”
However, if they want to be included in newspaper and radio advertising they must be registered by April 25th.
Registering can be done by following the links to the registration page at www.rainyriverchamber.ca. Or call 807-276-7580 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
There will be food booths at the trade show and it is hoped, weather permitting, that the local classic cars club will be on hand with beautiful wheels to check out!
Booth space is available for as little as $60 and the public will have to pay a $3 admission fee but will have a chance to win a door prize.
The public will also receive a passport that they get stamped at the booths for chances to win prizes. Many booths will be offering their own draws/prizes as well.
With the cold winter lingering, Trenchard said they are going to double the heat in the arena this year.
