A real pain in the mouth!

No pain no gain!
That saying is definitely true when it comes to getting one’s wisdom teeth removed.
Last Wednesday I went under the knife in Winnipeg in an effort to get rid of the constant pain I had been experiencing most of the summer.
I could not believe how fast the drugs knocked me out and how quickly the surgeon performed his task.
I was out like a light and awake 10 minutes later. Frozen to the nines I figured the entire process was a cinch. But when that freezing came out... I was in shear agony.
It hurt so bad I wanted to scream... but my jaw hurt too bad to open and let a scream out.
The anesthetist said there was an “Amnesiatic” in the sleep drugs... well I do not remember them extracting my teeth but a few hours later I sure remembered someone had done something.

The Dr. told me I was quite old (38) to be getting them out and that I should have had it done before I was 20. He told me to take a week off work and I begged him to let me come back on Monday... writing this right now... I am tired... probably should have listened to him.
Many thanks to those who brought me warm wishes for a speedy recovery and thanks to my brother and sis for putting me up and feeding me steak the night before. Also a special thanks to my dad for taking me up and caring for me.
Thanks also to my staff and the “E-man” from Fort for filling the gap while I was out of commission.
It was very hard to miss the premier event of the year and I was very curious to know who was in the lead each day of the RRWT. I look forward to next year’s derby so I can feel the excitement again.
–Until then, Ken
