Sleep? What sleep?

I guess I need to switch to a night shift job.
If it is not the wild cats fighting it is the train whistles polluting the night with noise.
Well Monday night I had trouble getting to sleep and when I finally did the cats were at it again and then it seemed like a dozen trains went through town blowing their horns.
Well things finally got quiet around 3:30 a.m. and about twenty minutes later I heard the first bird of the morning chirp out the first song of the day.
Within a few minutes there are a few birds and then in less than half an hour there are thousands singing away.
I guess I was not meant to sleep at night lately.
As I write this Tuesday afternoon, I am dreading tonight. In addition to the cats and trains, there will be American fireworks so I am sure they will keep me awake until well past my prepress day bed time of 9 p.m.
The only upside about having to get up at 4 tomorrow, is I might just be up before the birds start chiming away.
–Until then,
Ken
