Veterans’ tea to be held Nov. 5th

The local branch of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary held its general meeting on October 10th, presided by President Verna Barsy.
The district Rep from Kenora, Bonnie Foulds attended the meeting. Secretary Teri Yeo read the minutes of the last meeting. All accounts were presented and authorized for payment. Treasurer Donna Ivall gave a report on the auxiliaries finances. It was noted that the meat draws were doing well.
Correspondence was read and dealt with as required. Wreaths for the poppy fund were discussed and it was decided that the annual Veterans’ Tea would be held on November 5th. There will be tables for rent for various vendors. Also a penny table and tickets will be sold for a draw.
Each member is asked to donate an item for the penny table, valued at $10.00 or more. Items may be dropped off at the Legion anytime before November 5th. A discussion was held on ideas for donating money for the CT Scan being purchased for the Fort Frances Hospital. It was decided to combine efforts with the Legion Branch for this much needed project. A token of appreciation was presented to the district rep from the ladies. After a friendly discussion the meeting was adjourned.
