Former Berglandites promote Grey Cup
Did you get Grey Cup fever?
Well there certainly were a lot of people talking about it on Saturday when two local people ended up on national t.v.
CBC did a special on people coming from all over the country to get to it in Winnipeg. Two of those people ended up being Bill and Cindy Olson of Bergland, Ont.
Bill, married to Darcy Gale of Rainy River, now lives in Baker Lake, North West Territories spoke to CBC’s Peter Jordan via telephone from Baker Lake talking about the trek south.
His sister Cindy lives in Winnipeg and was featured throughout the special. She was even seen catching a football thrown by Manitoba Premier Gary Doer and then tossed up and down over head by the group of fans she was with.
It was a really fun piece and surely had many locals excited.
I always end up with a buddy or two watching the game somewhere. This year was no exception and unfortunately the underdogs lost this year.
I would liked to have seen Winnipeg make it to the cup but that did not happen and so ends another season of CFL football.
Not sure what to watch now. Baseball is over... the Vikings suck this year... while the Leafs aren’t doing bad it is early in the season... never enjoyed watching basketball...guess it is channel surfing time... has to be something good to watch on there.
–Until then,
