Safety lessons

Despite the heavy late afternoon rains Friday about 50 kids showed up for a Kids’ Safety day at Hannam Park in Rainy River. The focus was on water and boat safety. Tom Shumaker is seen here talking the proper way to wear a life jacket.

Former RR man competes in bowling nationals

Jim vanLeeuwen, above, formerly of Rainy River and now from Brantford, Ont., competed in the National Classifieds 10 pin bowling Championships two weekends ago in Thunder Bay. His team finished fourth, just out of the medals, and represented Southern Ontario.
