LoW councillor miffed by secrecy

The Lake of the Woods Township Council met on Dec. 7th with Mayor Pizey, Councillors C. Fadden, J. Moen, B. Lundgren, T. Sepers, Clerk-Treasurer P. Giles, Road Supt. E. Pearson, and five visitors present.

There is a little town within our big town. It is a place where life is carefree and there are no taxes. Its name is Snowflake Village and it is located at Susie and Jim Armstrong’s Third St residence.

Pileated Woodpecker

This is by far the largest of the woodpeckers of Northern Ontario, and certainly the most impressive. As big as a crow, black with white lines on face and neck, and with a flaming red crest, this is a bird which cannot go unnoticed, even by the most casual passer-by.

New song books put to use at long term care facility

Although we didn’t have a regular meeting in December, it doesn’t mean we weren’t very busy with the many projects we had going.
Our members were involved in work parties, making perogies, cabbage rolls, Christmas puddings, and crafts.
