The rise and fall of the paper industry

The steam continues to rise from the Resolute Kraft Mill in Fort Frances. The steam pours through the vents above the paper machines today. Most workers still employed in the Resolute Mill at Fort Frances have received termination notices.
The company has committed to keeping the heat in the buildings through this winter at a significant cost to corporate profits. Resolute has said that they hope to repurpose this mill and be able to bring back workers.

Maurice Oseid Nordine, 77

Maurice Oseid Nordine (Morry), 77, of Baudette, MN, passed away peacefully December 23, 2013 following a short battle with cancer. Born in Williams, MN on October 12, 1936 to William and Josephine Nordine, he lived most of his life in the Lake of the Woods area.
