At its regular meeting held March 22nd, the Board recognized Teacher and Team Coach, Steven Bryk, for his exemplary dedication and commitment to St. Patrick’s School. Mr. Bryk’s Grade 8 Boys’ Volleyball Team won the Gord Savoy Memorial Volleyball tournament held in Atikokan on November 21, 2015. Then on March 2, 2016 this volleyball team won the Thunder Bay Catholic Elementary championship title.

No foul play is suspected in the death of 16-year-old Delaine Copenace of Kenora. A post mortem examination was conducted on March 23, 2016 at the Office of the Chief Coroner and Forensic Pathology Services in Toronto and no evidence of foul play was found. Read more...

News Release A close look at seat belt-related road deaths on Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-patrolled roads in recent years suggest that males place far less importance on wearing a seat belt than females do. Over the past five years (2011-2015), a total of 332 people have died in collisions on OPP-patrolled roads as a result of not wearing a seat belt.
