We need proper budget debate

This week in Ottawa an important debate was taking place. It was focused on whether the Harper Government should be presenting its massive 400-plus page budget bill in one piece of legislation or break into several pieces so that it can be more closely examined. For our part, New Democrats believe it should be divided in order to be analyzed properly.

Looking for police stories

When I was growing up in Fort Frances, the police department only had 2 cars. The station was a small brick building attached to the old town hall. The town hall, the fire department and the police station all existed in the space in front of the currant Fort Frances Civic Centre.

Face to face visiting is the best!

Winona (Nonie) Berniece Rowe, 78

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Winona Berniece Rowe nee Vester of Rainy River Ontario formerly of Thunder Bay on Sunday May the 6th 2012. “Nonie” as she preferred to be called was born September 12th 1933 in McDiarmid Ontario to Ralph and Thelma Vester. The family moved to Port Arthur in 1941.
