Clifford Tuesday  “Biboon” Age 60

Having recently battled many health complications; Clifford Tuesday, age 60, of Anishinaabeg of Naongashiing, passed away on Tuesday May 31, 2011 at the LaVerendrye General Hospital surrounded by family.
He was loved and raised by his Grandmother Anne Morrison and he always cherished that time in his life.  His traditional upbringing included time spent with his Aunts and Uncles.

3 fined for shooting moose decoy

Three United States residents have been fined a total of $10,000 for shooting at a moose decoy from a motorboat.

Board votes to move ahead on Rainy River House

At the meeting of the full committee of on Tuesday May 30, the Locum Housing Project known as Rainy River House, the Board voted to move ahead. Blue prints for the project were ordered with the understanding that final approval may have to be modified to fit funding availability. However, an initial set of prints is necessary to move forward with the tendering and hence a firm budget.

Phone services back to normal at Riverside

The phone message system at Rainy River Health Centre, Emo Health Centre, Rainycrest Long Term Care Facility, La Verendrye Hospital and both the clinics in Rainy River and Emo have now been restored and is functioning normally.
