No election!

I hope this column finds you and your family well. My first week back on the Hill was very busy so let me use this space to discuss my views on the possibility of a fall election, and a new last minute proposal from the government to help some Employment Insurance recipients.
In the days leading up to the new session of parliament, you probably noticed that media coverage was dominated by a single question: would there be a third federal election in three years or not? I am happy to report that the answer to that question for the time being is ‘no.’

A friend of swimming in the Northwest region was recognized in Toronto at the annual Swimming Hall of Fame banquet. Jim Brow was recognized in the Golden Roll of Honour along with five other Master Swimming Officials for their contribution to the sport.
For over 30 years Jim has volunteered to the Fort Frances Aquanauts and clubs from Kenora to Marathon and from Fort Frances to Red Lake. As a volunteer Jim has worked at meets within the region, provincial championships, national championships and internationally at the Pan Am Games.

Hampton reaffirms intent to run in next election
