Free dental coverage expanded for low income children

Ontario is moving forward with its Poverty Reduction Strategy by providing urgent and essential dental care free-of-charge to children in low-income families.

January is Crime Stoppers month

January has been designated as Crime Stoppers Month and is being proclaimed as such by leaders and heads of state worldwide. This year’s theme is “Helping to Stop, Solve, and Prevent Crime - Together”, recognizing the value of a united partnership in the fight against crime globally; right down to the streets of our local communities.

Remembering what we do

Sometimes you forget things that you do with your children and are reminded later in life. It happened to me on Sunday. With my two sons at home, they both were out helping me shovel the snow from the driveway and walkways around the house.

How precious memories are

As I returned to Rainy River from a brief vacation in Bemidji this past Sunday the very first thing I noticed was how much snow Rainy River had received.

John Bodnarchuk, 78, of Rainy River, Ont., passed away peacefully Sunday,
December 21, 2008 at the Rainy River Health Center with family at his side.
