Riverview School gets major face lift

After nearly 30 years it was time for a face lift. That was what the Rainy River District Board of Education thought with regards to Riverview Elementary School in Rainy River.

There’s a new team heading up the school year at Rainy River High School. Former Vice-principal Bob McGreevy officially became the principal on Monday and he is joined by Donna Kowalchuk as V.P.

It was entertaining and humorous in some parts! The annual Fall Fair Queen Contestants entertainment received full support from the over crowded audience held at the DYS Gymnasium Thursday evening August 16th. The Committee in charge chaired by Joyce Meyers have worked long hours and to them a bundle of red roses for the effort.

After one day of fishing the competitors at the 8th Annual Morson Bass Classic had no clearly defined leader. Only three pounds separated 1st to 10th place, leaving the championship up for grabs on day two.

The fourth annual Rainy River Internationals Model Air Plane Club Fun Fly was held over the weekend and the number of pilots in attendance rose dramatically to 46.
