You can submit topic ideas for this column

Every week I do my best to keep you informed about what is happening in Queen’s Park. In doing so I try to touch on the important issues that have come up during the previous week, while also taking time to highlight important programs or services that may interest you.
My goal in preparing these columns is to keep you up-to-date with what is going on in provincial politics, because I believe very strongly that you have a right to know what issues I am raising on your behalf and, also, to have your questions answered.

Doing battle with mosquitoes

Zzzzzz. It’s a high pitched sound that immediately puts us at alert. Those darn female mosquitoes burned in my ear as I sat out on the deck watching the sunset on Friday night. For almost an hour, I could hear them winding up, high above me into a steady hum. And then first one then another seemed to drop out of the air landing on a visible piece of skin.
A swat and it flitted away only to return a moment later. A smack with the bottom of my hand and it was not more than a black smudge. More arrived and they drove us indoors.

Yardwork is a pain in the body!

Who knew yard work could be such a painful experience?
Over the weekend I was busy working in my yard. I had several chores on my list and managed to get through all but one of them.

Gold mine likely to see new owners
