I have heard it for years at every fishing tournament I have been to. People are fishing for walleye to win at the RRWT and bass at other tournaments and they come in saying they caught many other species.
This past weekend many of the anglers said they hauled in plenty of Northern Pikes.
This year's champs even took a break from the relatively slow walleye bite to try their hand bass fishing. They said the bass on the Rainy River are phenomenal!
Jason Gibbins said the river is primed for what could be a spectacular bass tournament.
