Silver medalists

RRHS Jr. Boys Basketball Team won NORWOSSA Silver last week in Kenora. They are, back row, Christian Tiboni, Darrel Jonasson, Nick Vogan, Tanner Neilson, Jackson Arpin and Coach Nicole Armstrong. Fr. row, Gethon Wood, Zack Quran, Wyatt Jackson, Morgan Desserre and Reece Chorney.

NORWOSSA champs!

Rainy River High School's Mixed Curling team brought home the gold medals and a big trophy after winning NORWOSSAs in Fort Frances last week. They are, l. to r., Morgan Haw-Skip, Nick Teeple-Third, Cassidy Teeple-Second, Evan Govier-Lead and Krista Williams-Coach.

Great winter fun!

On Thursday, January 28th, Our Lady of the Way students headed to Kay-Nah-Chi-Wah-Nung Historical Centre for a day of skiing and snowshoeing. After a fresh snowfall, the trails were amazing and the students had a fantastic time.

Alzheimer dinner a success!

A packed house at the 11th Annual Alzheimer dinner in Rainy River on Saturday raised the Kenora-Rainy River Alzheimer Society about $3,240! Many enjoyed food and won prizes including Rose Hanson, left and Gary Gamsby who won two of the Chairs for Charity! The Rainy River Red Hat Society ran this year's event at the RR Legion.

Family donates to church

The Kaliska family donated a crocheted picture of The Last Supper to the Rainy River Knox United Church on Sunday. Fr. l. to r., Rev. Frances Flook, Bob Bernie, Ella Bernie, Mark Paldio, Dana Kaliska, Lu Kaliska and Larry Armstrong, Chair of Church Board. Missing from photo is Joe Kaliska. Alzheimer's Month

Mary O'Connor, local employee of the Kenora-Rainy River Alzheimer Society, left, and upcoming Linda Johnston Memorial Dinner Chair Deb Wagner, center, presented RR Mayor Deb Ewald with the Alzheimer Society flag to be put on display at the Town office during January which is Alzheimer's Awareness Month.

I Want to be and Elf!
