Cough, cough, cough...

I just hate being sick!
Early last week I knew I was coming down with something. My throat had a tickle in it and I was feeling off.

Going to miss you Bud

Having spent the better part of 40 years in Rainy River, I was deeply saddened when I heard Thursday that my neighbour Bud Hannam had passed away.

God works in mysterious ways!

I truly believe God works in mysterious ways. Two Fridays ago I attended the meat raffle at the Legion. The bartender, Glenda Halverson, came over to me and told me that there were two Shih Tzu dogs at the Lake of the Woods Humane Society in Baudette.
Knowing that I had put my long time canine friend down in Sept. she thought maybe I would be interested.
At first I just kind of shrugged it off.

Christmas lights baffle me!

Why is it when you take out the Christmas lights from the year before they no longer work?

Feeling violated and unsafe

Ever feel unsafe? Violated?
Well Monday the Record Office staff discovered that the office had been broken into for a second time in less than two months.

Sports means family time!

Sunday I was in awe as I looked around the living-room and saw so many members of my family having a good time together.
It was centered around the Minnesota Vikings football game.

Dry weather is the spl(ouch)its!

As I write this I cringe everytime I have to type the letters 'L' or 'O'.
It is not that I don't like them its that I have a split on the end of my finger that types those l(ouch)etters!

The pot calling the kettle black

How ironic is it that the provincial government mandated that municipalities could not carry a deficit for more than two years back in the 1930s, but yet the province itself has spent us into the hole nearly $15 billion.
Its like the pot calling the kettle black.
So here we sit with municipalities forced to be responsible governments, but the people enforcing that rule spending out of control.

What an incredible weekend!

What an incredible weekend!

So very sad he is gone

On Friday I lost one of my best friends I have ever had.
My dog, Navy Boy, was a 14.5 years old Shih Tzu (101+ in dog years) and had been steadily in decline for months.
